Every day, every month, every year

Each day, each month, each year, in Astrology we give significance and observe the influence of our closest bodies to Earth (the Sun and the Moon especially) and the planets of the Solar system. In particular we pay attention to the movements and radiations happening within 1 billion miles around our star the Sun, which approximates with the position of bordering Saturn (890 million miles).

Astrology observes the influence of cosmic bodies over Earth and our bodies. Closest body to Earth is our Moon and the largest is the Sun. Without the Sun and the Moon, life on Earth would be impossible. It is for these obvious, natural and scientific reasons, that astrology makes sense. From Sanskrit "Jyotish Shastra” translates as “the science of the Light of God”. From earliest days of the human civilization, the luminaries Sun & Moon have been venerated and associated with gods. It is only rational, that God - the omnipresent and invisible force behind ALL life, had started it's Creation with the Stars.  Astrology remains enshrined in the oldest religions on the planet, however today we have astronomy, technology and many other sciences that show it's influence.

Often the movements of the planets are similar, but never the same, as everything floats in this ocean of vibrations. Can it affect our consciousness? Can we live without light? …or without darkness?

Well, first of all it must be said, that the inventions of the calendar, the clock and other measurement meters depended of the revolution of Earth around the Sun, the phases of the Moon and it's own inner axis.  The modern calendars were devised to reflect the astronomic movements however with partiality to political and cultural interests.  Therefore to these days, neither the Gregorian/Christian calendar (following AD), nor the Thai/Buddhist (500 years ahead) , nor the Mayan, the Chinese or the Hindu, are anymore exact.

Astronomically, scientifically there is no reason why the year should start on  1 of January, and neither with the Chinese new moon in Capricorn (China’s country ascendant). Astrologically, the new year begins with the first New Moon in Pisces. That is when the Sun and Moon align to the same degree over the constellation of Pisces. This is a visible event observed in the sky usually at the beginning of April. Historically, the Summerians and gods of Mesopotamia, were also celebrating the new year with this astronomical event. This is because the Sun's position on the ecliptic at the time of the vernal equinox is when night and day are equal.  This position, measured against the background of fixed stars is also taken as the age bearer, for example Age of Pisces or Age of Aquarius. The Earth and it's residents, are in between these ages at the moment.

The stars are ever slightly 'moving' from west to east at the rate of one degree approximately every 72 years, this means the Sun crosses the equator at the vernal equinox moving backwards, one constellation (on average) in about 2160 years, and the whole twelve signs in about 25,920 years. These calculations are astronomical events given astrological importance. The two sciences have been interlinked since the beginning of time. In fact astronomy placed the planet in time and space.  Earth is but a member of the Solar system family, which is a part of a galaxy and in turn of a multitude of other galaxies and universes, all interconnected.

Souls create time and space, in a world without time and space. Order without borders.

The moment when the new year (New Moon in Pisces) happens is used to charter and predict, what would be the influence and predisposition of events on the planet. For example in 2022, the new year started on April 1 with a closed alignment, therefore the war in Ukraine. In 2024, it started on April 8, with a total Solar eclipse, therefore the political and financial crisis in USA.

From Sanskrit “Kal Sarpa Dosha” literally translates to “the great affliction of the snake”. What it means astronomically? Rahu and Ketu are the north and south nodes of the Moon. These two are not planets, but energy positions in the sky where the Moon's orbit meets the Earth's orbit. During an eclipse, these nodes are highly activated, as the Sun, Moon and Earth align. Geometrically, the Rahu-Ketu points can divide the chart of anyone (person or event) into two equal halves, or 180° on each side. Usually, the planets are scattered on either side of this axis, but sometimes all of them happen to be on one side. This locking position when all the celestial bodies on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis signify a great affliction. Similarly, the alignment of the Earth between Sun and Moon results in a Moon eclipse, and of the Moon over the Sun results in a Solar eclipse. Astrologically, such events signify restrictions, loss, and delusion because the light is being temporary restricted or reflected in a disproportionate way. However, as the movement of the planets continue, they move to the other side of the Rahu-Ketu axis, bringing an end to the affliction.

Solar and Moon eclipse happen every year, usually in March-April and September-October.  The next eclipses in 2024, will happen 18 Sep (Moon) and 2 Oct (Solar).  In 2025, eclipses will happen 14 Mar and 29 Mar, and 7 Sep and 21 Sep. A Moon eclipse is always followed by a Solar eclipse and the 14 days period between eclipses is basically the luminosity phase of the Moon (from Full Moon to Dark Moon).

Astrologically, eclipses are considered as cycles of transformation. Guarding against excessive anger and depression is necessary at this junctures. Beginning new things during the eclipse is not considered to be auspicious, so all new projects should be postponed. Usually, eclipses have a negative impact on the mind, as they cloud the intellect and the Cosmic light. Eclipses represent our phobias and fears. They are only shadows, and thus represent a time when one should realize that fears have no real base. However, eclipses must not be watched. The days around them are good for purification, cleansing and spiritual meditation.

In relation to 2024, as a year that begins astrologically on an eclipse - it signifies that until April 2025,  around the planet there would be lots of shadows and falsity dispelled, corruption discovered and oppressing actors stopped.  These will happen in particular to political events and financial schemes, as also the transits of Saturn in Aquarius and Jupiter in Taurus signify reform in democracy and rulers.
